Theory Based Character
For this task, we had to use colour theory to create a character that con notates specific characteristics and personal features. This lead onto the creation of Dysfunctional Derick. The image has explanations for design decisions so the picture is pretty self explanatory. Here is the concept:
Art Style Idea
For this assignment I was given a set of three different characteristics for an art style and had to visualise the proprieties. The three terms I was given are "Racing Game/Super Market/ Social Realism. I depicted the racing game feature by using a car as the main focus. I then based the game in a super market, and I added social realism by including politics and making the car trump themed. I believe I covered the criteria relatively well. Here is the image:
RNG Character Concept
Similar to the previous task, I was given a sentence to illustrate except this one was a character more specifically rather than a game concept. The sentence I was assigned was "A man in his 60's who is aggressive and wealthy" In order to connote the aggression I gave the old man blood stains on his clothing and a dagger dripping blood that he held behind this back. In order to make the wealth of the character apparent, I gave the man fancy clothing with designer labels on, along with the a top hat to portray the appearance of a Mayor. Here is the outcome:
RNG Game Idea
The RNG Game Idea consisted of being given a randomly generated game idea and using this sentence to create a concept for the potential game. The sentence I was given was "A sim game where you experiment with monsters to make everybody happy." After being given this statement to work off of, I decided to illustrate a Colosseum in outer space where the player is given different tools and materials to try and experiment with the monster (in a sandbox setting) and the crowd serves as an indicator to how good of a job you're doing. Here is the outcome:
Creating a layout Concept for Modern War
I decided to create a birds eye view perspective of the level I was going to make. Due to the perspective of the concept there is next to no detail on each of the structures and what they are to look like. Despite this the drawing gives a good indication of what I aspire to create along with how I want the map to flow. Research was conducted into the arrangement of layout which can be seen on the technical blog.
